How to Replace the Display Assembly of Your iPhone 4

The LCD and the front glass of your iPhone has damaged and you have to replace the same. So, you are thinking to replace the complete display assembly. You have ordered for the display assembly and now looking for tips on how to replace the display assembly. Here you will get the tips.

  • Switch Off your iPhone first.
  • Check out for rear cover screws to remove them.
  • Now gently remove the rear panel from the device.
  • Now remove the battery gently. Unscrew the screws and remove battery connector from its socket board to remove the metal clip. Then hold the plastic pull tab carefully to remove the battery. Disconnect the contact clip from your phone.
  • Remove the SIM card and its holder. You can use SIM card eject tool for this purpose.
  • Now remove the Phillips screw and then disconnect the steel dock connecter cable cover.
  • Remove the dock cable connector from the logic board.
  • Remove the dock ribbon cable from the speaker and the logic board.
  • Remove the lower antenna connector from its socket on the logic board.
  • Remove the screws attaching the bottom of the logic board to the inner case.
  • Remove the Wi-Fi antenna from the logic board.
  • Remove the Wi-Fi antenna from your device. Do this carefully.
  • Remove the rear camera connector from the logic board.
  • Remove the warranty sticker and the water indicator.
  • Now remove all the connectors from their sockets on the logic board.
  • Remove the screw near the headphone jack and then carefully separate the logic board from the device.
  • Remove the speaker from your device
  • Remove the vibrator from the device
  • Unscrew and remove the screw near the headphone jack.
  • Unscrew and remove the screws attaching the volume button.
  • Remove the screw attaching the lower microphone.
  • Remove the screw near the dock connector ribbon cable.
  • Remove the screws near the SIM card side and near the rear camera.
  • Gently remove the entire display assembly from the phone.
  • Now put in the new display assembly.
  • Now, follow the above-mentioned steps in reverse order to reassemble the device.
